In Australia we lack critical thinking when it comes to junior athlete development- far too much emphasis is placed on "fitness" and not nearly enough on injury prevention and preparing our athletes bodies to withstand the demands of their sport/sports not to mention actually boost performance!
There is an infatuation on quantity of movement rather than quality and an irrational fear of strength training with persistent myths such as "it will stunt your growth" and "it will make you slow" which thankfully modern science has disproven without doubt.
We have worked incredibly hard to develop a quality program that remains affordable and we have achieved this by implementing an intensive induction to be followed by periodic contact hours to ensure each athlete gets the best result possible.
All quality strength and conditioning programs must begin with a movement screen to identify risk of injury due to muscle imbalances / poor posture.
We will use the information from this screen to establish each athletes program design requirements.
We will then begin teaching correct movement patterns and developing structural balance ( a fancy way to describe protecting the joints by developing the musculature that supports them and ensuring that the muscles surrounding our joints are balanced to allow for maximal range of motion).
We will spend enough time with your child to ensure they understand how to perform each move correctly
Once the initial program has been designed we will provide you with an online program that we will use to monitor progress with videos of each move being performed correctly to ensure safety and efficacy when training.
Periodic catch ups will be scheduled to advance your program and test for improvements in performance/abilities. These can be booked as often as you like to suit your needs and budget.
